Adam Behr Wins Voicey Award for Best Male Voice

Voice actor Adam Behr has one of the most unique voices in the industry and a rich cultural heritage. Adam was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa and partly in Lobatse, Botswana before moving to Canada’s west coast initially to pursue his passion for motion picture effects work, and later adding voice acting to his pursuits. Presently, Adam stars in recurring roles on a top animated series, enjoys narration work, and is involved with three international animated films. One of the most interesting aspects of Adam’s career is his involvement in the exciting world of movie trailers.

Voicey Award winner Adam Behr attributes his success over the years to influential teachers including Nancy Wolfson, producer Marc Graue, family and friends, clients, his network of agents and exploring many different markets including websites such as Voices.com in the online voice over marketplace, acquiring a network of buyers in all parts of the world who appreciate the unique sound of his voice in Hollywood and beyond.

In an acceptance speech, Adam acknowledged Gail Murphy at Characters, Doug Paterson at Big World Sound, Vancouver voice talents, US agents Wes Stevens and Tom Lawless at Vox in LA, Elynne Dale at Big Fish Voice Company in Denver, Jenny Bosby at PB Talent in Texas, Voicecasting in Atlanta (Donna and Michelle Summers), Kristin at Stars in San Francisco, and Don LaFontaine for his generosity and insight, teaching him to find his movie trailer voice. Adam also credits voice actors David Kaye and Cathy Weseluck as being instrumental to his success.

Current goals include building a trailer and promo career, perform more animation work and to pursue diverse projects that challenge Adam’s abilities as a voice actor.
